Background

When Jon Evans began writing this album, the project’s direction was still uncharted. With his wide-ranging musical background and diverse influences, he experimented with various sounds, styles, and lyrics, allowing the creativity to flow freely without a set path. The first track, "Jupiter," emerged as an instrumental, but it wasn’t until Jon’s brother, filmmaker Michael Evans, contributed lyrics that the first fully realized song, "Good Enough," came to life.

Next came "Defined," which quickly took shape and was shared as a demo on MySpace, sparking a creative surge. With songs pouring out and the recording process speeding up, Jon realized the need for fresh perspectives. To elevate the project, he brought in Cooper Anderson (Kanye West, John Legend, Fun.) to mix the album, and for mastering, he enlisted the expertise of 3-time Grammy Award-winning engineer Bob Katz to add the final polish.

Critical reception

Gregg Hale of Linscratchers (Online Magazine) described the album as a fusion of Red Hot Chili Peppers and 30 Seconds to Mars. He noted, "...as the album progressed, I found myself hearing more epic elements in the music... I freely admit to loving it," ultimately giving it a stellar 93/100 rating.

The album also caught the eye of several record labels, both indie and major. Though Launch Point chose to remain independent, Jon is grateful for the industry buzz, which confirmed that he was on the right track.
